Somewhere not west, since there aren't any mountains in the pic.

That really looks like a Frank Gehry building in the middle, but I don't believe he's done much in Canada.

Boom! My home town. Winnipeg, located in the center of North America, yet seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Up until recently the home to some of the worst liquor laws in Canada. Cheers!

The building in the foreground is the Canadian Museum for Human Rights designed by Antoine Predock.

Should be easy. Born and raised here before moving out west in '98:

I think you're forgetting that Central America is part of North America. Winnipeg may be the center of US+Canada, but not the whole of North America. (P.S. Look at a globe, not a map, as maps are skewed due to the Earth being round).

Is that Memphis?

Reason: Twice a year I used to visit my grandparents in Bolivar and sometimes we'd take the route through Memphis and stop downtown for BBQ. I was actually just up there for my grandma's funeral about a month ago. The brown building with the kind of pointed top is the only thing I recognize though.

I think you are forgetting how far north Canada actually stretches. If you in fact look at a globe, you will see that Winnipeg is pretty close to Rugby, ND which touts itself as the geographic center of North America.

Yep. I tried to find a pic that 1) didn't feature the Pyramid/"M" bridge and 2) wasn't shot from the river.

True, I guess if you count all the way up to the top of Greenland (which is part of N.A.) then perhaps you're more correct than I initially thought.

Nashville? Weird angle for the picture but I remember some towers there with *very* distinctive tops.

You're thinking of the "batman building". but naw, not nashville.

EDIT: I'll be honest I was stumped so I google image searched it and I'm very surprised at the location.

The buildings are distinctive and the angle is indeed weird, even for me (and I've passed through at least once a year - since birth!).

So yes, it's in the US, but no, not Nashville or Pemberton. Though Nashville is almost 3x closer than Pemberton.

The buildings in the foreground are an on-site reconstruction of an 18th century French Fort, if that's any help.

Here's another angle - the one you'd see driving in from the west.

I wasted a good hour trying to find this one. The building in the foreground didn't match the background. From the background I'd guessed it is a building from the south. But all my guesses weren't right so I Googled it.

Im guessing someone will eventually get it but definitely not an easy one!

Yeah it was a little sneaky of me to do so. But honestly the foreground buildings are somewhat well known also, so I thought it may aide somewhat.

Well I recognize the font on the hotel as being a Hampton inn and suites which I believe is only in the U.S... So based on the Germanic architecture of the foreground building and the city size I'm going to wildly guess Pemberton New Jersey?

If you're referring to the nearest of the two tall buildings in the 1st pic (or the rightmost building in the 2nd), then no it's not a Hampton, but it is a hotel. The tallest hotel in the state, in fact. A whopping 28 stories. The symbol is an "R".

Hahahaha! That's awesome! I lived in Pemberton NJ for too many years, my mom still does.

Thanks for the laugh!

Oh, I was referring to the much shorter building to the mid left of the photo.. But thanks.. I thought that was a B haha

Lafayette?

Good to see people aren't cheating, this is a good one! I couldn't figure it out so I googled it as well and was surprised by the answer, but it makes sense now.
