My question is when I looked at the recipe is that why the addition of the the Goldings or the Northern Brewer. I think it they might be overpowered and not come through all that well.

If it was mine I would stick with the Amarillo and Cascade mix as they are more compatable to my taste.

Personally I think that is too much crystal. Might end up too sweet depending on how fermentable the extract is.

Also, you could steep some carapils for body.

As far as the hops, I agree, I think you will lose the flavor of the Goldings and NB, Amarillo and Cascade have very strong flavors. If you just need the IBUs and have them to spare, you could move them to 60 minutes, just for bittering and have more Cascade and Amarillo for the flavor/aroma.

1 oz of dry hopped Cascade will give a good aroma, if you any spare throw some Amarillo in there too.

I would leave out the Northern Brewer and Goldings hops. Maybe move a half ounce of the Amarillo hops to the end of the boil - 15 minutes or less. Otherwise looks good.

well the last IPA i brewed did not come out as bitter as i would like nor did the aroma. i wanted to make sure i got the full hop flavor aroma and bitterness as well as the malt taste. the goldings and northern brewer, would those be overkill or just not worth throwing in? i kinda wanted to do a 5 or 6 hop addition, do you think sticking with cascade and amarillo is good for that?

crystal is fine. I've used more ant it wasn't too sweet. I'd up the grainbill a bit. Instead of just steeping might as well add 2lbs of 2-row and minimash. It isn't that much harder. Keep the hops how it is but add some amarillo and cascade to your 5 min as well. Then dry hop with both. Then you'd have a fine beer. Amarillo and cascade have a nice citrus flavor/aroma. Mix that with your northern brewer and golding and it'll be nice and complex. Just add more at the end to get more of the happy flavors. :D
