WOOOWWWW!!!!! I waited 5 weeks to try it. I use the same style recipe, but the end result was much different. My my temps were much easier to maintain and the end result is a much lighter body beer.
Is there a chance that wort with OG of 1.060 and FG of 1.15 may have a higher ABV when mashed with HERMS as opposed to direct fire on the stove.
Just wondering as 3 or 4 mugs in and this stuff seems to be kickin' my butt unlike the other beers mashed with the stir every 5 min on the stove and vorlaughed. My OG is about the same, but my wort is much clearer than before.
I am still waiting to get the crystal clear beer that I alway got with extract and partial mash. I am using Irish moss and proper sanitization. My beer is great, just a little chill haze until the last 4 or 5 glasses out of the keg.
