Well I've been back home for awhile but I thought I'd update what happened on my trip to Cincinnati. I received several good tips for places to go from forum members here and went to quite a few of them. My first night I was trying to go to Beer Sellar on Riverboat Row, but it was a monday night and we walked in there and there was no one around, not even a bartender, which was strange because the doors were open. We yelled hello but no one came out, so we went to Hooters right next door and had a nice little waitress serve us. Of course there wasn't much of a beer selection but we made do with one of the specialties, I forget which one. Tuesday we went to the Comet, but didn't stay long as the waitress was more interested in talking to her regulars and it wasn't a place up to one of the guys I was with's standards, so we ended up at the Lackman with a good beer selection and a nice looking if a tad unfriendly waitress. This is where I tried several craft beer, and found I like the ones on the lighter side, they had a nice cherry beer there that was incredible, and several other nice selections which escape me at the moment. It was nice to have the five sampler deal there which was perfect for me. Next day we went to a really nice restaurant in downtown Cincinnati, I forget the name but for $47 they kept bringing all we could eat meat around while giving us a salad bar. It was incredible but we were so stuffed after we couldn't drink anything and just went home. That left the final night, we wanted to check out Hofbrauhaus, which was incredible. Not many beers but the ones that were there were very tasty. I couldn't decide between their dark and their original light, I ended up ordering a few litres of their light and getting fairly tipsy(it was our last night), then we went to try the Beer Sellar again, that is where I tried some Dogfish head for the first time. Maybe I was drunk but I tried the 60 and just loved it, then tried the 90 and thought it was even better. All in all I had a great time and tried lots of good beer, but wasn't feeling so good for the flight home the next morning.
The good thing is that my company said they might have to send me again at some point. I am hoping they do, I could use another week of that much fun.
Thanks again to those who steered me in the right direction.
