I will second SawdustGuy's post. These guys took me through the entire process and All that is left for me to do is cook some beer.

I was worried about the semi automated controllers too. I really love the way they worked yesterday in my last test. I have a minor Temp calibration issue to deal with. Other than that I am ready to rock, Thanks to Kevin and Sawdustguy. They were both able to point me to the necessary equipment, most of which came off ebay, and then get me all connected. It was like Christmas in July around here as the USPS and UPS brought a piece here and there and slowly it all came together.

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!

Now that I am a seasoned pro.....

I will be glad to help anyway I can.

One tip I have...

If you build out of Mild Steel, like I did, and use the Hurricane Burners (which I like alot) and directly connect them to the frame as I did, then DO NOT run your wires through the frame. Just go ahead and run them through an external conduit and protect them from the heat. Stainless Steel does not radiate the heat the same way mild steel does.

If you look at the Original Brutus, Lonnie used those wok burners and supported them with the gas pipe nipples and fittings and not suspended by the frame like Mine and Sawdustguy's are. Our direct connection transfers more heat to the frame, especially with Mild Steel. The ONLY down side to using the Hurricane is this. Because of their size and method of support they require the mounts to be something like mine and sawdustguy's.

First tool you will need as you start your build is a digital camera.

I have a couple more tweaks left then I will post a photo spread of the set-up I have and field questions.

Your brew rig is looking great! You have come a long way in a very short period of time. I am happy to hear everything is working as it should. When we started trading posts I knew you would be successful in a short amount of time as you asked all the right questions. I know I could never have built mine without being a member of Homebrewtalk.com. Better help, you will never find.

Thanks for the replies, I am making mine out of stainless. I really appreciate the info here. I am not qualified to use a digital anything, nevermind trying to upload pics. Download yes, upload umm not so much.

HORSE HOCKEY!!!!!!!

Learn how to upload pics, this is a mandatory requirement.

Have fun and ask any question. No such thing as a stupid question.

Not sure when the first batch is. VERY soon I HOPE.

Hunting season starts on Sept 1st and other pursuits are in store. BUT, and I do mean BUT, It's all about the BEER!!!!!

I am looking for the right recipe for the inaugural voyage. Hope to find one soon

Ok, so were making some progress. The stainless is cut, needs to be cleaned up some, damn chop saw. The burners are on their way. And I ordered 1 y8610u w/ a q345,looks like prices went up recently. So I still need 1 more y8610u and the pids, probes and a couple of ss tees and elbows. It should be off to the welder next weekend and hopefully some pics. Is there anything else needed, besides a waterproof enclosure, and a small bucket of money?

Switch out the small bucket for a large bucket.

Nice looking build Simphoto02.

I'm going to start saving my pennies for one of these.

I'm on my way with 3 kegs (no hardware) and 2 pumps. Now to figure out what I want to put inbetween.

Thanks,

Just gotta figure out how to use the damned thing now...

One batch in the cookers, we will see

Hijack update, just got back from the welder after tacking the burner mounts and last few details. I will get a call from him this week with a total, it will only hurt a LOT!!!
But after having messed up the cuts w/ a metal chopsaw, I didn't want to learn how to weld ss on this project. So it will be money well spent, like having a machine shop cut 12- 6"x6" ss plates w/ a 3"x 5/16" slot in the center for the hurricanes. Can't imagine how bad I would have screwed those up.
Getting a bigger bucket is easy, having my wife fill it is the hard part.
