Sorry to hear about this man...this is definitely a time that requires prayer.....we're all thinking of you and your family! God watch over your brother!
SwAMi75 said:After almost a week, his condition has remained unchanged. They ran another EEG to check out his brain yesterday, and we got the results this morning. No improvement--basically, flatline. The only form of life support he has been on for about 4 days is a respirator, and we made the decision to pull it at 2:30 this afternoon.
He has gone on breathing on his own since then. It's very labored, and his lungs are full of fluid since he's been on his back on a respirator for 2 weeks. Now we're just waiting for the best thing possible to happen: for him to die. I've reconciled myself with the fact that my brother is gone, and now I just want him to go peacefully. Right now it's all a bit surreal to me, but I already know there's going to be a huge crater in my life once I get back to "normal".
Dude would be the only person whom I'd talked to about Les, and he may or may not even remember. I've always told people about what an awesome guy my brother is......the best guy you could ever hope to meet. He has been the best friend I've ever had. He never had a good job or much money, or a lot of joy in his life. The guy just never got a break, and if any one person deserved the good things in life, it was him. That has always hurt me......and now, this. And I haven't even mentioned the fact that he's a single dad.....but that's for later.
Anyway, please hope for his speedy and peaceful passing for us. It's the best we can hope for at this point. And thanks for listening.![]()
