Moving beer?

IF - the interview works, I'll be traveling 5 states to the left. Problem: 14 day old doppelbock!
This sucker is gonna have to lager for a min of 4 mo's and to make matters worse I brewed it for a competition in June.
Has anyone moved fermenting beer before?

i move it all the time. never a lager and never that far but shouldn't be a problem. I pin my carboy between the front and rear seat by sliding the front seat as far back as it'll go. just secure it in the car and crank the a/c. then you have a mobile lagering cave

If you have a Co2 bottle handy I'd probably try and purge any oxygen from the fermentor when you arrive. A move that far is bound to disrupt the built up Co2 layer and an oxidized dobblebock will be pretty disappointing.

Roger that. Not sure how I am going to do it yet...hell, I don't even know if I am going to need to but I am trying to prepare for the worst. I may skip the competition on this one and brew up a Alt beer or somthing else that won't take so long.

Has anyone tried to lager in the bottle? Assuming it's end fermented when I have to move it, is it possible to bottle it and lay it down in the fermentation freezer for a good long while to get something drinkable?
