Just curious if anyone has a recipe to share. Midwest has a Fuggles IPA kit. Sounds interesting. Have been wanting to try Mosaic for a while now.

If not, I can order the Fuggles IPA kit. I brew AG.

Thanks,

Bill

I just did an experimental batch with Mosaic. I loosely based it on the Arrogant Bastard SMASH recipe for malts with the hop schedule from a Two Hearted clone.

I don't have the recipe with me right now, but it was about 4% dark crystal (150L), two row base malt, and 1 oz of mosaic at 60, 15, and 0 minutes. I mashed low at 148. I have one more ounce to dry hop.

I'm pretty new to creating my own recipes, so we'll see how this turns out. It's just finishing primary now.

Im sipping on a Mosaic Promise Clone I made. Very tasty pale.

It says Simcoe for bittering because I use hop extract for my bittering on pale beers. That is my IBU contribution via the extract. If you want to do an IPA, I would suggest upping the bittering addition a little, and then doing a hop burst and hop stand with the mosaic (the 4oz @ flameout is really added @ 170F and whirlpooled for 30 min).

This hop schedule provided good flavor/aroma, just lacks the bitterness of an American IPA

Got this recipe from Henhouse Brewing. Super cool guys making AMAZING beer.

64% Domestic 2row
32% Wheat malt
4% Flaked oats

Mash Temp 155F

60 minute boil
Mosaic at 20 minutes to 30 IBU
1/2 oz per gallon Mosaic at whirlpool/flameout

OG 14P (1.056) FG 3P (1.012)
Cal lager yeast (Wyeast 2112) at 65F to 7P (1.028)
Raise temp to 68F to terminal gravity and D rest

Dry hop 2 oz Mosaic per gallon

I know the hop schedule is kinda crazy... But it's worth it!

Here's a mosaic based IPA clone of Elysian Dayglow that I've made with great results:

13.5lb 2 row
1.25lb white wheat
.25lb C-15

90 minute boil

90min 3/4oz chinook
E-15 1/3oz centennial, 2/3oz mosaic
E-2 1/2oz eldorado, 1/2oz mosaic
WP 1 1/3oz mosaic
DH 1 1/3oz mosaic

1056 yeast

I brewed a Maris Otter/ Mosaic SMaSH that was pretty tasty.

So how are these recipes turning out? I'm brewing a SMaSH IPA on Saturday. German Pilsner and Mosaic hoping to get close to Yellow Rose by Lone Pint in Magnolia Texas. All late hop additions starting at 20 minutes and totaling 10 ounces for a 5.5 gal batch. Hoping it will be half as good as the inspiration.

The jury is still out on mine. I just tested the first pint last night. I'm getting a very intense and clear grapefruit flavor. It is pretty nice, but I think it might need to mellow a little bit for my personal tastes.

It's not properly carbonated yet either, so I will check back when I feel I've got a good representative tasting of it.

This week I'll be brewing the recipe I posted earlier. I'll report back. Should be pretty awesome, a full pound of mosaic is going into this 5.5gal batch!

I do an all Mosaic IPA that's pretty damn good. Mostly aroma/flavor hops. Even non-IPA drinkers love it (UK malt contributes a fair amount of maltiness but SRM is still in spec) while it also satisfies the pallet of us hop heads.

Here is the recipe I came up with. As I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty new to creating recipes, so feel free to pick it apart. I'm guessing the Crystal 150L will be controversial. It is inspired by the Can You Brew It recipe for Arrogant Bastard.
