I making a starter for some yeast I rinsed a while back. When I opened the jar there was some mold on the lid and the outside rim of the jar. I wiped it down with a clorox wipe and dumped out most of the liquid and pitched the yeast into the starter. You think it'll be okay to brew with? There wasn't any mold in the jar. Just around the rim.

Did it look like mildew? You might be ok as long as the starter beer didn't contact it...

Cheers! 🤞
It was like a greenish gray white film in the threads of the lid and jar. I'm sure it's fine, because I don't think any yeast or starter wort came in contact. I've never had this happen with my jars before, so I was a little grossed out. I don't really want to infect my beer though.
