Does anybody do this? It seems much easier and more sanitary to harvest yeast from a starter vs. washing. My idea is to step up a WL vial to 1L and then 2L. I should end up with roughly 400 billion cells using a stir plate. I then would crash the starter and pour the yeast slurry into 4 sanitized WL vials. Each vial would contain roughly the same amount of yeast as a new vial. Refrigerate and use as needed. Any problems?

I do this before every brew day. I do my step ups then fill up a 1/2 pint mason jar and put it in the fridge til the next brew day. I'm still using yeast from last year and have not had any problems with fermentation or taste.
