looking for my stir bar

want to get a starter going tonight for a batch sunday... cannot find the sumbitch... find the enveloppe that the catch magnet came in... it's not opened stirbar still in the primary... is there an easy way to get it out?... sometimes I know why I'm not the inventor of the 4 holes buttons

You can use a strong magnet to grab it and drag it up the side to the mouth of the carboy.

The stir bar shouf be a magnet, how about a cloth hanger that is clean and sanitized real well. Good Luck

I have a magnet on a chain for when I do something stupid like drop a stir bar in my primary...

unless you need a stir bar for another batch leave it. You don't need to get it out of the beer. It is self contained and ok to leave. Just put a magnet on it after you rack/bottle.

I've done it. I just left it in. I have a back up for just this scenario.

oh and next time, put the recovery magnet on it before you pitch, that keeps it in your starter vessel and you can fish it out from there

got it out using the catch magnet I just move it under the bottom and hear "click", moved it all the way to the top! Now I can get my starter going!
P.S. I have a couple backup coming!

Just wanted to chime in and say you could probably do all of this without pants too. I've done a lot in life without pants and have done okay.


Oh and an extra stir bar is never a bad idea.
