I ordered a couple of extract kits online last week. This was the first time I've ordered a vial of liquid yeast (white labs), I usually just get dry.

Well, because I usually get dry, I forgot that the liquid was in the box. It's been in the box at room temperature for a week. I just remembered it. Is it done for? Is it still usable?

I'm pretty sad about it. :(

Make a starter. If the yeast offgasses, it's alive. I boil 2 cups water to 1/2 cup dme. Cool it, put it in a sealable gallon jug, add yeast. Seal it up and if it starts to look like it's gonna explode, your yeast is alive(let the air out and loosely close the cap). Step it up a few times and use it. I have been much meaner to liquid yeast and not had problems.

What yeast is it?

Like everyone says, making a starter will proof your yeast.

To add to that, yeast is a resilient microorganism don't doubt it, my guess is it'll be juuust fine.
