Yeah just to get three Zennes right, ya shitlord

But dunno, guess it will depend on how much stuff they're serving. If we can get through it in a day I'll save myself the 6 hour round trip the next day
Last year was the first OBDs I've missed since 2013 after LuxWanderer and co tipped me off about hundreds of people rolling up on Friday to score as many bottles as they could, and I couldn't face the crowds and the mayhem.

I'm not even much of an old hand but I miss when it was a few gazebos out the front of the brewhouse in Beersel.

Thought this thread might be the best to post this in...anybody see this yet? Some very nice beers available for a good price...a partnership with Etre Gourmet.

Currently, 3 boxes available per year...6 bottles per box. 120 euros/3 boxes or 45 euros/box.

Can't wait to dig into that De Dolle Special Oerbier Reserva 750.

I've seen it on Etre's FB a couple times and just can't help shaking that it'll mostly be overpriced garbage.

It's certainly a risk based upon other "clubs" and mystery boxes...1 or 2 good beers and a handful of filler trash. Yeah, we aren't going to see Zenne or Fou in one, but if this first box is any indication of future editions, I'll be happy with trying some unique, limited beers...especially for 40/45 euros.

Yeah shipping is probably less brutal to Germany, too.

For the BXL Fest pack this August there will be a cantillon blend of two 3-year old lambics that have been bottle conditioned. I am excite.

Didn't they have some weird rule last year where you didn't have to actually attend the fest to get bottles as long as someone proxied for you?

Siren & Hill Farmstead Limoncello IPA (33 CL)
Kees & De Molen Frick & Frack (33 CL)
Préaris Pomogranates of Love (33CL)

Those are the other four beers that will be included...

Split a bottle of this yesterday with some Colorado folks. It was phenomenal.

50N was my other favorite of the day. Barrel character on this latest batch is great.

Hope to try the new 50N, the last batch was the highlight of my visit to Cantillon and one of my favorite beers of all time.

The 3F twist of fate series seems pretty cool. Had no clue that stuff existed before my trip yesterday. Ended up getting the Witte Perzik (white peach) Raw & Uncut. It was phenomenal. Shame it’s onsite only.

There were so many of the twist of fate bottles I wanted to try but had a long day ahead of me.

3F was a much more relaxed scene (set out in the suburbs). Barely anyone there around 11am on a Thursday. Got to Cantillon around 1:30pm and it was already a bit hectic and cramped. Both have their charms. ;)

Does anyone know around what temperature you should start becoming cautious of the bottle exploding? With summer coming, I just want to be cautious as I try my best to keep my bottles cool. I've heard that it is common for breweries to have bottles "age" in warmer rooms right after brewing, anyone familiar with what that temp range is?

Thanks!!

Under 69° = good
69° = nice
Over 69° = bad

As far as I know no one worries about warm beer exploding, the increase in pressure at normal temperatures isn't enough to cause a failure. The main concern is off flavors that develop exponentially more easily at elevated temperatures, and with beers with living yeast you could produce off flavors by stressing them (though I don't know how active they really are, it might not be possible to taste anything produced that way). The general idea is "colder is better until the mid-50's", but it's not all that bad if you're at approximately room temperature. When Cantillon got that bomb cellar for aging massive amounts of lambic Jean Van Roy said as evidence of the usefulness of the spot it was ~72F during the summer (IIRC, but it was in the 70's). If it's fine for him for all that beer, it's probably fine for you.
