2011 Golden Blend. Quite pleasantly carbed (ha ha, suckers). Nose is sour apple/peach along with a grassy component. Taste is green apples, hint of cedar shavings, aged (Swiss?) cheese. ******* lovely.

What year is it?Anyone have good experiences with this? I was hoping for the best even with all the bad things I had heard about the synthetic cork....but it was a fruity synthetic kind of mess...![]()

From here, looks like a natural cork, no?Anyone have good experiences with this? I was hoping for the best even with all the bad things I had heard about the synthetic cork....but it was a fruity synthetic kind of mess...![]()
but it was a fruity synthetic kind of mess...
Why do you think that? I've only ever seen that in actual OGV labels, like here: http://www.lambic.info/3_Fonteinen_Oude_Geuze_Vintage. That bottle pretty clearly doesn't have the purple bar on it. Seems like a regular 3F Oude Geuze, but perhaps there are some that are regular labels out there that have escaped SeaWatchman's omniscience.Valentine edition...2007 .

Anyway, last time I had St Valentine's I thought it was good, but that was nearly a year and a half ago at this point.
um. which specialties do you speak of - the non-Lambic stuff? The other recent Oud Beersel specialties clearly haven't been home runs
You're over here getting hella likes and escaping before the stupac2 lambic death farts start. It's almost like you know the deal with our shares...Thanks stupac2 for the seasons!

These were very nice vintage lambics that showed really well. I wish I could’ve had more time to sit and consider each one a bit more but excited none the less. Zomer and Winter were my favorite seasons. Zenne b2 was terrific; young, refined, bright, delicious.

my daughter, however, is deeply amused!
Good times and fun to compare the seasons to the other time I had them three years ago. All holding up really well. Nothing too wild, though Winter was my least favorite. Thanks stupac2 for the seasons!

Also, big thanks to whoever brought the Zenne.
Interesting. I've had a chance to try this a few times out of 375s and 750s and I've enjoyed each of the bottles I've had. I think one had some slight butteriness to it but the others were nice, light, and refreshing. I think at some point we started calling it summer lambic or session lambic as it was so easy drinking. I'll have to open another bottle soon and will report back.Brett-Elle Oude Geuze
I know some people have mentioned that this “new kid” on the street is a little plain and under-developed but that didnt prepare me for just how much I disliked the bottle I opened yesterday.
Its very buttery with a distinct footy pilsner grain character. The tartness was restrained to the extent that I thought it was possible that I got a mislabeled bottle and was drinking a bad pilsner, not lambic.
There was another vig 2009 375ml posted last week by a different person. I tagged SeaWatchman and then accidentally deleted the comment/tag
Nvm I think the one above is the one I tagged SW in. Here’s the photo from today:
