I personally get to go once or twice a year, so I don't see the big deal if I ordered 4-6 bottles at the bar on two visits during a trip.
Belgians also have lots of bottle shops that get plenty of Cantillon distribution.

I would argue that very little of it is 5%. It's usually 6-7+% despite what old Cantillon labels say.

Part of the reason it was a huge pain in the dick to get cantillon label approval in TX. Regs for being with 0.3% or some **** of label stated abv.

That doesn't change the argument much. Lambic is a sipping beer, it's just hard to get drunk off of (at least in my experience).

It's like talking to a brick wall with some Americans. Got in a row with a guy once who was complaining about the parking around the Mikkeller Bar in SF. Have seen loads of people drive off after sessions at Cantillon/Moeder/3F etc.

I've driven there a couple of times and parked on the street. Just to meet a friend that was in town for a quick beer, so nowhere close to being hammered. Car was fine, I was fine. I don't live anywhere close to a BART line, so it's proximity to that station does little for me.

At the time, I owned a fairly nice Audi A4 (though I was also fairly lax about cleaning it). It was in exactly the same condition when I came out as when I left it. Because, you know, it's not that scary of a place.

Some of his prices aren't that bad. $60 for hommage seems reasonable. That being said, maybe he works at a local distributor in Brussels.

not really. the last 2 years the only bottles local shops got are kriek, gambrinus and regular geuze

I think they want to make it easy for mules and sell the special stuff only at the brewery .

On the other hand they complain about mules/flipperz but when they sell "exclusive bottles" online they need the money from those same mules/flipperz cause what normal european will pay +100 euro for a stupid bottle of beer.
