I got some serious butyric acid in the Rhubarbe. Pretty off-putting once I noticed it.Myrtille was great. Rhubarb could use more rhubarb
Just had the Framboise. Multiple fire emojis!!I got some serious butyric acid in the Rhubarbe. Pretty off-putting once I noticed it.
But that Quetsche/Mûre blend (La Famille) was insanely good. Myrtille and Groseille were almost as good.
Somewhat off topic here, but after foraging for Bilberries in the Finnish forrest ive come to realize that the flavor profile of Blaeber should NOT be the flavor profile most Americans associate with blueberries.
Down by a Finnish ******* river!
i mean i appreciated it, but straight pfruit juice is spot on, with minimal funk. definitely did NOT taste acetic acid though.Am I the only one who didn't really appreciate Citoyen this past weekend? Had it at the Porter tasting and at the festival VIP session. All I got was straight passionfruit juice each time. Closer to an Answer crowler than Lambic. Very minimal funk and just super sweet.
In my experience, most Europeans don't know the difference either.Somewhat off topic here, but after foraging for Bilberries in the Finnish forrest ive come to realize that the flavor profile of Blaeber should NOT be the flavor profile most Americans associate with blueberries. Im sure this is a "duh" type thought for most europeans, but i'd wager that many (if not most) Americans have not tried bilberries and thus are surprised when Blaeber doesnt taste like american blueberries. Tasting them put a few things into perspective for me. Thought i'd share.

Blueberry:Same goes for blueberries vs huckleberries which generally get lumped in (linguistically speaking) within the same realm.

I dunno I got more from NathWell, I think it had more rhubard than Nath for example, I liked it but it was not my favorite of the series.

It was refreshing to taste beer that met hype. The event was an intimate experience consisting of my favorite kind of people. Each bottle of Bokkereyder had very noticeable differences of flavor. All some of the best lambic I have ever tasted. Even after splitting 18 bottles among 9 people and countless other pours, I was nowhere near lambic drunk. One day it will happen.
Awesome stuff, I still have two bottles of 04/14/14 around, will probably check on it soon after this description :>3F Oude Kriek bottled 04/14/14
The standard 3F oude kriek bottles with a touch of age to them are so good. Tons of mineral cherry funk with really low acidity.
Did I miss something ITT about Zenne b2 releasing soon or are the pre-trades on the other site just hopeful shitlords?
apparently being released during this years open beer days. some of the not so cool webshops are taking preorders as well...
Lambicworld?
You can't go wrong with Boon. Available, affordable, and ******* delicious. So In accepting I will struggle to buy new Cantillon and Tilquin beers from the shelf I figured I should start buying up the local stashes of the other stuff.
Got a bunch of the regular Boon and then a load of this.
