What's the consensus on 3F Intense Red? Have had it twice so far - first time was years ago at a Top Hops share and I remember it being ridiculously cherry-pie-like. Had it again last year while pretty drunk at Monk's and it wasn't any better than the regular 3F Kriek we ordered alongside it. Thinking of adding a bottle to my Etre box but at 29 Euro, would it be better to just throw in a few Tomes instead?

I really like Intense Red, but I’m a sucker for cherries. To me, it tastes like liquid cherry skins. It is a bit thin and one-dimensional though, especially for the price.

The answer is always ‘Tomes.

I'm trying to figure out if how drunk I was last time I had it affected my perception. I just remember not being terribly impressed, but I'm also a sucker for cherries and hard to turn down one available online when I have the space in my box.

I posted on the lambic.info facebook group, but I imagine there's some people who don't post over there. I'll be at Cantillon/3f on Thursday August 3rd if anyone is around, would love to share some stuff. I think I can shove a few Trillium in my girl's bag if any of you Europeans are around and want to tick.

My friend was telling me that 3f will ship bottles for you via BiaB now? And they will even ship some from other producers as long as it's not crazy? I definitely want to buy some stuff, but I don't have the ability to ship it myself because of time constraints. Any info on this side of things is much appreciated.

I will also be in Stockholm starting on August 8th!

Here now. Process still isn't completely transparent, but here's the info from 3F: Shipping at 3F

It's pretty simple. I've actually got a box ready to go with Kurt from BiaB this week. Also when you fill out that form they will scan it and CC you on an email to the store notifying them that they've taken your beer and placed it on the next pallet to go out. Then it's up to you to arrange shipping with the company you chose via email. The BiaB process is pretty painless.

In addition Werner replied in our group that max 1/3 of the shipment can be bottled from other brewers/blenders.

BiaB maxes out at 18x75cl bottles. You just fill out a very simple form at the brewery and then wait for the email chain to start.

I had a 2012 Intense Red on Friday night and thought it was better than a fresh bottle I had a while back, lots of cherries and barnyard funk.

Yeah I had a 2012 a while back and loved it. The intensity had dropped a touch, the colour was incredible and it had a lot more depth.

uh...so I was just at the cantillon site and for a minute they had a category up for those charity beers (special-sale-vendanges-solidaires). I still have all the pages open in my browser, but if you try to load them again they say error. So consider this a heads up...any minute now.

Same thing happened yesterday. The store went down for a while and came back up w/ no changes...

Link?

This sale feels over before it even began.

Cantillon has over 50,000 followers on Facebook with about 1500 of them commenting/crashing their site before this was even mentioned as being an online sale.

They are putting up for sale "a hundred or so" so yea, its over for the majority.
