Small update with another question. After nothing happening on my tracking, all of a sudden it said on July 13 that it left Belgium again, then on July 14 that is arrived and left customs in Chicago, then arrived at my house in Texas Saturday. Today in the mail I get this letter from USPS. Anyone received a letter like this. I'm not sure if responding would help or hurt Etre so I'm not sure what to do.

Probably best to just contact Jonathan at Etre. He is usually pretty prompt at returning emails.

Has Honing ever been available to buy from the shop at the 3F Lambikodroom? I see Himmeriget in Copenhagen just got some cases in for drinking in.

No, that was just a special shipment for them with explicit instructions to never allow it to get out unopened or they'd never get anything else again.

Like that time Jeppe got explicit instructions that it was for public sale only and shouln't just go to his bars at exorbitant markup?
Hahahahahaha

Hi! First post but have lurked the forum for a while

Planning a trip to Brussels either next week or the second week of August. It seems like that the to go lists at Cantillon and 3F isn't much to cheer for this time a year.

Does anyone know if hommage is still available?

Is there a date set for the Zenne release btw?

I'd just say go and have fun drinking all the amazing stuff for on site consumption only, and don't worry so much about whats available to go.

There was not Hommage available to-go when I was there a few weeks ago. A&G, Gueze and Oude Kriek (I think) were it.

Different strokes I guess, I'd buy the **** out of regular gueuze/kriek/rdg

Zenne release prolly at Open Brew Day or whatever they call it, what was it, Aug or Sep 23 or 24 or something?

Figured id post some random thoughts on lambics ive drank recently.

Sipping on Beersel Vandervelden 135 as I type this. Its real good. Typical beersel profile with maybe a bit more focus on bitter grapefruit in the finish with a subtle vinous addition. Pretty citrus forward.

Beersel Schaarbeekse Kriek (2015) I wasnt digging this. It got some plastic phenolics and an overall medicinal feel. Plenty of unripe natural cherry flavor but not enough to distract you from the other stuff it had going on.

Moriau geuze - its no wonder noone talks about this stuff, its very forgettable. Its very carbonic and mineral laden and not in a good way with a bit of fusel booziness.

Absolutely loved that one. Got a couple more stashed away, pretty excited to get some of the new batch.

On the subject of random lambic comments, I found a couple of unlabeled splits the other day which, after opening one and by process of elimination, turned out to be Hanssens 100% Schaerbeekse Kriekenlambiek from the TDG this year. Very interesting experience - really intense cherry, sweet and sour, dry and oaky, kiss of acetic... Not many obvious comparisons for a flat, intense, bottled kriekenlambic but definitely an experience.
