I need tips for barcelona.

If you want tips for food and sherry spots in Spain, or just general thoughts on which cities most worth visiting depending o what you're looking for, message me...beer was not my focus while traveling around Spain so I'll defer to others on that, but food was and I spent lots of time eating and even more researching food. Also of course many menus aren't available online in English so planning restaurant visits can be tough if you don't read Spanish.

Long story short, I'm having a Zenne delivered today where the high is 27, low is 22F. Just wondering how much damage is done to beer (lambic, really) if it turns to slush while in delivery?

I had a temp control malfunction a few years ago and some of my bottles turned to slush. Let them thaw and they tasted fine but I did notice they were less carbonated than usual.

You should join the lambic.info Facebook group. There's a recent post with some good info about this.

Will lambic even freeze at that point? I'd imagine it has enough alcohol and random solutes to lower the freezing point by a measly 10 degrees.

Also, the bottles aren't going to immediately become the same temp as the ambient temp. Beer is normally fine even in the teens for several hours. I just got a box of lambic that left Chicago yesterday. It was really cold up there. All are fine.

I don't think it'd freeze unless it was out for a really really long time, like couple days long. One thing I used to do was throw a few different ABV/style beers out on my porch in the winter and see at what point they would freeze. I think anything below 20 is starting to push it for lower ABV beers, but again that's over a long period of time in my experience.

Right, packaging material doubles as insulation, so and as SeaWatchman says even without any it still takes a long time to fully equilibrate. I think you really only need to worry if the package is going to be stationary (either in a warehouse or on your porch) when the temperatures are in the 20's. Once it gets colder than that, though, all bets are off.

Great, good to know! Thanks

It will probably just be cold when you get it. Perhaps slushy if it was really cold yesterday and the box sat for a while.

Just leave it out at room temp for a couple weeks then Cellar it. You'll be fine.

Wish this would sit on shelves forever.
