There are still some that give no ***** and still ship Tilquin.

But srs. Let me guess. Bunch of knobs bought a ton of mure online or something and flipped them

My understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, Pierre feels as if the US gets more than enough Tilquin and he doesnt like that these stores are buying them to send even more to the US.

I remember reading that but again I might be wrong.

Just drank the 750 I was supposed to be saving for longer term aging. Was drinking fantastic and no regrets except not buying a shitload when I saw a case each of 750s/375s on a shelf (...well it was actually a barrel). Enjoyed it more than the Mure 750 we had right after.

While I'm here, I should mention that this was a first time bang:

It was really, really tart. My only other De Cam to date is the Special, which I really, really like. As this one warmed up, I started enjoying it more, and I was thinking how similar it was to Cantillon RdG; I wish I had done a side-by-side to actually compare the two. So it was quite good (I really like RdG), but the tartness was too much for me - I had to split the bottle over the course of 2 nights. This beer would be great in a 375 or at a bottle share, but 750 was too much for me to do on my own in one night.

I've had a bottle that was one of the best beers I've ever had, but as with most traditional fruit lambics the batch and even bottle variation can be huge.

I guess those of us who have been doing that in the US just don't count.

I wonder if they realize who is primarily driving their growth? I feel like severe secondary abuse of gueuze and lambic is minimal.

I also wonder if they get how difficult it is for most people to acquire their beer. Last I saw 3F Gueuze on a shelf was 4-5 years ago.

I've talked to distributors in my area and it sounds like Shelton Bros have been difficult to deal with for whatever reason.

Seems like they hoard an awful lot for their "festivals".

Opened a DHVL 20th Saturday. Word to the wise, some of those bottles are weapons-grade carbonated. Cork shot off about as soon as cap was removed.
I opened one a couple days after purchase while still in Brussels and it was totally fine - maybe the travel / air pressure / dickbutts may have done something that affets the carb?

Also, this is such an interesting beer. I remember it being quite hoppy for a geuze, yet greatly enjoyable.
