Anyone have an idea of how difficult it is to get some wooden Cantillon crates? I remember that they used to be for sale on some of the websites but I haven't seen any recently. Any ideas/anyone have some for trade?

I'd happily build a few extras with dimensions. Have plenty of tools. Is this the one you're talking about?

Looks like 1x4s, maybe 4 total boards if you maximize your cuts.

They're 1x3 boards all around and then two thin pieces attached to the bottom for stacking purposes. Mine measures (+/-):

Long side: 17 inch
Needed: 6

Short side: 11 1/4 inch
Needed: 6

Vertical: 9 7/8 inch
Needed: 4

Floor: 12 1/2 inch
Needed: 5

Maybe hotmetal can forge us a L.I branding iron :p

Alright, so the measurements are just slightly more than 3 ea 8' boards, so I figured 2 ea 8 footers and 2 ea 6 footers. You could rearrange the cuts so you aren't pushing board 2 to the last few inches.

Prices were from Home Depot and Lowes. They do not sell cedar or whitewood in a 6 foot board, so you have to buy 4 ea 8 foot boards.

All in all, with some 3/4 or 1" wood screws, built out of cedar, you're talking about $20. Plus blood, sweat and tears.

Edit to add: if you want some of those stacking boards at the bottom to hold the crates together, you can get that board for a few dollars and use it for 2 crates (assuming its 4'+)

I'll need 42 of them.

This came last night and I got to really look at it up close finally after anticipating the box. A perfectly preserved 1997 cork US label Bruocsella with an awesome fill level from when Shelton was apparently based in NC. Single owner/cellar before me. This is now the oldest Bruocsella I have in my little collection.

Very cool bottle.

The US label is 1000X better than the euro
