I've always found that pretty ironic some people complains about the 12$ price tag for 375ml Mikkeller's bottle while paying 30$ for Bruery bottles and constantly being ISO. Or Cascade.

I enjoy what Mikkeller does, but found the pricing a little bit too expensive for what it is usually. Doesn't make it ****** for that reason. But I totally hear you out.

The flaw in your logic is that nobody buys Cascade ;)

Kinda confused by the vat 79 label, it says that foeder 79 was used exclusively to age 3yr lambic since 1986. The label says brewed oct 26th & 27th 2011 and bottled oct 24th 2013. That's only 2 years, am I missing something?

Boon probably should have come up with a different name for this one... First, "Black Label" = Girardin. Second, it is a tad confusing to refer to this as "Black Label" when the regular Boon Oude Geuze already has a black label.

Black Label is a more colloquial name for Girardin isn't it? I don't think Girardin ever refers to it as black/white, but rather filtered and unfiltered. But yeah, confusing for the layman, agreed.

There's a whole lot of confusing **** on both of those labels.

Just saw De Troch Winter Geuze on the shelf at the local. Not familiar at all with it -- worth checking out?

Also, any thoughts on Scarenbecca Kriek from Hanssen's?

And, finally for this morning's questioning, anyone have strong thoughts on how bottles have been stored on retail shelves affect their quality. Stumbled across some 2012 Oud Beersel OG Vieille this weekend. The story can get kinda warm in the summers, and I'm sure this thing has been sitting for...a long time. I mean, obviously I'll just open it up and find out soon enough, but wondering for the future whether I should worry about storage issues.
