Haven't heard, but if it is I'm already ISO. Opened a '10 last night amongst others:

We started with Stenciled, lame saison get that out of this thread ( )

'08 OGV 375 was a treat thanks to isaac11 visiting from FL! Compared to a synth cork '07 from last week, this didn't have the full on funk assault, but it also didn't go to **** when it opened up in the glass after a few minutes. Very good start to finish and reminded me of a restrained, less oxidized '07 St Valentin.

50N 4E may have been my favorite Belgian of the night. As in reviews warmth did good things, and we savored our pours while tasting through the bottles I won't bother mentioning and eating some cheese.

'10 Schaebeekse was really great. Hard to remember well enough to compare to '11 I had in January, but we all were impressed. I'm a big fan of letting stuff like this warm up, but I let it go too far when I left to jump my friend's car, because the warmth plus pallet fatigue had me struggling through the last sips. The sour set in. Best sips were at midway temp, nice balance of fading fruit sweetness and 3F funk.

Yeah, I had it once in Amsterdam and it was amazing. I thought it was much better than LPK personally. I would love to get my hands on another bottle.

That's with the glasses, but still that's crazy. I paid $30 shipped for each of those within the last week from the UK.

Now you've done it. Now all these people will come out of the woodwork and rub it in your face that they have some other random ass webshop that is stock full of cantillons and they can get it whenever they want. Oh you want to know what site? Sorry, if I told you then it wouldn't have the beers available when I want them. Maybe you'll be able to find it.

Had a cantillon gueuze classic last saturday while brewing my first 10 gallon batch of pale ale. Compared to the 2013 3F gueuze i noticed the cantillon (2014) was more acidic and had a stronger funky/zesty smell, not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely more intense. The 3F has one more year on the cantillon and had a noticable smoother/less acidic taste and a woodier (more barrel) smell. My money is on the 3F gueuze, and i'm not really sure that an extra year of aging really makes a difference in taste, but the i noticed the 3F was a hell of a lot smoother. 10/10 would bang again, starting with 3F, and cantillon getting sloppy seconds.

So from now on fedex might be my go to lambic exporter. Just got a box from Belgium that was shipped Thursday. 4 days including Sunday that's got to be a record.

It's HIGHLY dependent on which country in Europe, from what I understand.

Yeah I thought the use of fedex was odd, so I woke up this morning and figured I'd see if it at least made it to Belgian customs. Was shocked to see out for delivery, almost thought it had to be wrong but it showed. Little light on packing but at that rate it doesn't have time to get crushed.

Yeah, UK->US and BE->US can both be fairly reasonable via International FedEx depending on the box size (and in my experience has also always been crazy fast). The other direction... not so much.

Getting two 30kg boxes in a day or two (hopefully tomorrow) via bpost. Will be 5 or 6 days depending on delivery; not quite as fast as your fedex shipment but the fastest bpost shipment I have had yet.

I use FedEx exclusively for SWE-US shipping these days, about 30% cheaper than Swedish Post and a further 5% off because I use this particular price comparison website. Ends up being about $150-175 (equivalent) for a 12-bottle shipper.

And out of Denmark using pakke.dk always yields cheaper FedEx and approximately 4-5 days between there and almost anywhere in the U.S.

I'll take OG over Classic allll day. I've never had aged classic but I had a 1997 OG when I was in Belgium and it was mind blowing. Cantillon can't touch 3F when it comes to goozies IMO.

I have run out of ideas for searching for Cantillon online. I have used several search engines, gone to the google sites for different countries and searched in their native languages, bravo to those of you who have found honey holes, because this is impossible.

There are lots of sites out there that keep some Cantillon in stock by charging prices that, after shipping, may as well be US auction site prices. I imagine some people with too much money just use these out of laziness. There are others with better prices and truly awful customer service, including often selling you bottles they don't actually have and refusing to give refunds, or just sending you some different bottle with a similar name instead. I've learned about the latter through painful experience. And there are sites that used to have a few special bottles but which no longer do because they've been discovered.

I have found plenty of obscure webshops that fall into one of those three categories, none of which are worth using IMO. I know of like one site other than the two obvious ones that is worth using, and that one is only occasionally more useful than the two big ones. There may very well be some stores out there that don't have webshops but which ship to people who've developed relationships with the owners or something, but I'm not convinced there are actually any secret webshops out there with rare bottles at reasonable prices and reliable shipping that you can find if you just keep looking or something.
