What's a decent price for Girardin Black Label? I never see them on the shelf around here, but when I order them online, they're usually in the $15/750ml price range including shipping. Local store just got a couple cases of 375mls, but they're charging $14.99 each. Am I just spoiled by Etre or is that really high for a 375ml of black label?

That's really high. If you filled a box with just giradin black 375mls, cost per bottle SHIPPED would be less than $10

The 375ml bulk from BiaB comes out to like $7 and change shipped. Half the shelf price in question. But then De Can Oude Lambiek and other stuff are also less than half as much shipped overseas as they are on shelf here so I guess not all that surprising.

There seems to be quite a bit of variation in price, but I've seen 750s of Oude lambiek as low as $31 and as high as $40

Well I don't pay it lol because I get mine from overseas, but $40 is pretty normal and $45 not uncommon. That's for Oude Lambiek which is the only one imported.

De Can is my favorite brewery so I'd probably pay it occasionally if I couldn't the beer any other way. Fortunately I can.

I've only had the Kriek Lambiek (amazing) and the Framboise (good but not great) because of the price difference with other geuzes and the rarity but I keep hearing how great De Cam is so I'll be picking up more bottles.

Kriek Lambiek great, Geuze better, Oude Kriek is the real star to me (and I think to most de Cam fans). But it's not for everyone. I like it way better than Cantillon Kriek; other people think it's meh. But try it.

I told myself i wouldn't buy these because of the price but being a lambic hipster who gets more excited about second rate obscure gueuze than about the reliable stuff, I of course eventually did. Haven't opened either the gueuze or the kriek yet though.

I opened a Framboise at Sante with some peeps last Friday - consensus was that it was well beyond good, pushing into LPF territory. I'd crush a ton of it if I had a ready supply.

Eh, it's fun and nice but not great. Not sure if it's too young so much as too much not sour/funky.

I could smell lambic and cardboard as I carried it in.

Of course the Fou was one of the victims. Both loons that leaked were on one side of the box the two at the other end were fine.

I'm sorry for your loss. Lost a Hommage and St Lamvinus last winter. Same thing happened.

Was this box coming international from a shop, or trade? Regardless sorry for your loss!
