Definitely pass on the mamouche for that price if you do order. You may love it (as I do) but a lot of people don't and describe it as pickle juice. I wouldn't take the risk if you haven't had it.

You are in Austin right... Based on your avatar? You should be able to trade some JK for these at a lower cost than this.

And I guess on that note which of Fou vs LPK is harder to trade for?

No idea about trading for them, I just buy them. I often trade them away to people I like at cost or sometimes less. I don't see why 2 of the better JK sours couldn't pull a fou if you have the right eyes on the trade offer, though I assume most people would ask 3-4 JK.
The LPK is more scarce quantity wise (I think, but I am drunk, so don't take my word) but fou makes up for that in flavor. There are 'trade rankings' somewhere in this thread for just what you are asking.... Homework time!

Someday I hope to live in a world where I can buy these without getting completely assraped. Hell, $45 seems like a deal based on most prices I've seen online.
Ya its like, part of me knows its overpriced, but the other part of me knows there is a very slim chance I will find them at a lower price moving forward. (especially with the trend lately...)

Hilarious. Allow me to be more specific. Has anyone ever cellared a Cuvee Rene? And if so, did it develop into anything better or anything worse? Was just curious. I didn't realize this was such a stupid question.
I have had Cuvee Rene up to 4 years old and thought that they were better than the fresh bottles, but that could be batch variation. Cuvee Rene is a traditional gueuze and can be cellared they way you would cellar any other gueueze.

Don't they pasteurize it or something? I've always heard there was some reason CR was an inferior product to other bottled lambics. I really enjoy it myself and never really cared what anyone had to say about it, but I thought it didn't really change with age for that reason.

Judging by the huge amounts of sediment in some bottles I'm gonna say not pasteurized. But I don't have any other source for that.

Their website says the regular is, but cuvee is refermented in the bottle and suitable for aging. So I'd say it isn't.

Does Biab allow you to build an order over time like etre does? Asking for a friend.

More or less, but BIAB doesn't ship on a fixed quarterly schedule. This can be good or bad. You're not forced to fill up a box every quarter, on the one hand. On the other hand, Kurt's communication can be spotty, and it can takes months to get him to ship your damn beer sometimes.

I recall a few pages back someone was curious about a VAT44/VAT77 side-by-side. Didn't have a VAT44 so this 2010 will do.

Both beers are great in their own way. The 2010 has tons of dry lemon rind, a citrus punch, and a subtle funk.
The VAT77 has tons of barnyard funk. Real musty but with a creamy, sweeter mouthfeel.

I was at a liquor store the other day and saw 375ml bottles of Framboise Boon with 2012 on the neck label, they were $9 a piece and I was wondering if these were traditional framboise or sweetened. I looked at BA reviews and just searched the first page for both "sweet" and "sour" and both came up 30 times... Anyone here have experience?

Pretty sure those are sweetened, at least they are if its the one in the image below. Not to the point of the Lindemans bottles though. There were a few sitting on the shelf here on closeout recently for $1.99/bottle.
