xposting like a motherhomie.

Oud Beersel OG bottled on 03/14/2002, about 9 months before the brewery closed for nearly three years before reopening under new ownership in November of 2005. Still fairly carbonated, strikingly assertive lemon notes, slightly acetic, and mild oxidation. It is starting to get to the stage where it gets a bit malty, but it's definitely still got some legs on it.

I opened a 99' Oude Beersel Geuze and Kriek and greatly preferred the kriek to the geuze because of the maltyness and oxidation you describe here. The kriek was really deep and rich compared to the geuze.

For sure, quite a few pages back there is probably a picture of me talking about the 2002 Kriek that I opened with it. Did you get the 99 Beersel from Yves?

Good lord this thread has grown a lot in 6 months!

I thought about getting that 99 from him, but I decided against. I am certainly keeping some of Kriek on hand for a while though.
Got it for the Futurama series finale(started in 99'), seemed appropriate. It also gave me an excuse to get a bunch of other stuff from Yves.

I assume by "get stuff from Yves" you mean his online store?
I wish I were cool enough to get stuff straight from the cellar but yes.
Here are some pics from a friend's bachelor party cellar raid at Dorst...

They also drank Millenium and 2001 3F(not pictured)... I have to make my way over there ASAP.

anyone have a 2013 lamvinus lately? i am finding this very weak for being as fresh as it is. i am searching for that grape. reminds me of a cheap american wild ale

:(

Just had one this weekend and found it pretty weak as well

Unfortunately agreed, and I still have 5 more bottles. We'll see what time does, I guess.

Had a '13 Vig on Saturday and it was pretty good. No shortage of white grapes there.

Yeah, I've got 3 more I'm going to sit on. Hopefully there's some improvement

I can't believe this thread was on the second page. I felt compelled to post so it would be on the first page of beer discussions.

And to keep things on point I will talk about lambic. Has anyone had Zomer recently? I feel like this is impossible to trade for so I will just ask that anyone with an extra bottles send it to me for free.

bm me for address

Wat u mad bro? '13 St Lam is the best vintage in years, I've had more than a few bottles and not a one with weak sauce.

'13 Vig, on the other hand, is the best vintage in decades.

I think I was supposed to post here. Had a Vig on Saturday, was very good. Was actually my first one ever, so nothing to baseline it with, but plenty of grape flavor. Enjoyed it a lot.
