Yes do it, it's great! Completely flat since it's just straight unblended lambic from the barrel, but excellent none the less. The kriek is the best way to go if you want to drink it straight.

Or order both the girardins and oud beersel and create your own gueuze. I just ordered them for batch 2. Batch 1 turned out far better then I could have ever hoped for.

Am cracking a de cam lambiek 2/2012 bottling date tonight. Will report back on findings.

Alright, so the lambiek was a little off. Nothing too bad about it, but it was definitely different from the other bottles I've had in the past. Definitely more oxidation than I would like, and something a bit odd in the aroma that we couldn't really place. Overall not bad, but not the same beer I have grown to love.

Opened a bottle from the same batch 3 nights ago with the same results. Not very good. Lacked crispness and any sort of brightness, only slightly tart. Oxidation masked most of the brett/funk that would normally be there.

Won't be buying any more of these, especially at this price point, until this train's turned around.

This is extremely disappointing to read as I just recently purchased a bottle of this, also from the same batch, 02/12. It's my very first de cam and it cost way too much to not be the real deal. Was saving it for a special occasion. Bummer.

I opened a 2/2012 US bottle yesterday and it was similar to what you're describing, really disappointing.

Is it official the new bottles of De Cam that came over state side are ****, because my local place have a bunch but I didn't want to spend the money if it isn't up to par with previous batches?

Thanks for the tip guys! This really dose make Lambic even better!

About two years prior, I had done a trip from Paris to Brugge to various parts of Germany. I hadn't had real lambic at that point, but a nice gentleman named I believe Simon at La Cave a Bulles in Paris insisted I stop by Cantillon in Brussels. It was a great suggestion and I immediately fell in love with Lambic.
His name is Simon, and he is a very nice, generous person and a personal friend of Jean's. He and I have a mutual friend that who was married in February in Florida, we met there.

Always so funny how that Kevin Bacon rule thingy works.

Simon is amazing! He looks like a viking. When I told him I was from San Francisco, he replied "TORONADO PUB! It is my dream to go there. Come with me, friend!" and wrapped his arm around me. It was a good shopping trip.

We've already been doing that in the Lambic group on facebook.

"What steps would you leave out if you were making a gueuze in 7 days"

"This coaster set shows how to make gueuze, but it's missing a few steps. Perfect if trying to shave the time from 3 years down to 7 days".

"I spent more time collecting this set than it takes you guys to make a gueuze"

"I spent more time collecting this set than it takes you guys to make a gueuze. Both are missing a few steps though"

"shipping from Europe took longer than actually making a gueuze"

That's awesome. And I assumed you wouldn't leave me disappoint.

I Nearly MarkIntiharing'd one of the new timmermans oude krieks the other day (my glass was a few ounces short of holding th whole bottles, but i sure did finish it myself) It is pretty tasty and readily available.
