I posted a short clip from the Bottle Conditioned film a bit ago in our Facebook group with an intro from the director/producer who’s also there to answer any questions about it. If you haven’t seen the campaign yet, do take a look! I’m pretty damn excited to see this one getting off the ground!

Are there any places to drink lambic in Denver?

Goed Zuur usually has Oud Beersel Oude Lambiek I think. They might have some 3F since a drop just hit town for the first time in years. You might be able to find some A&G, Hommage, OG at liquor stores around town. Hops and Pie will have some Fou Foune, Hommage, A&G, OG, and Tilquin tomorrow in addition to a bunch of other sour things.

I usually stick to my basement.

It's effectively the same beer. The Bone Dry Selection was Mikkel's blend, Black Label was a blend using the same foudres. The price difference being that one doesn't say "Mikkeller" on the label.

Jabs aside, I think the working relationship between Boon and Mikkeller has had a positive effect on what Boon has been putting out in recent years.

Whatever the difference the yellow label was fantastic, ISO

Sounds like an invitation to me. ;)

All of this. If you are in town this weekend the Hops & Pie event is where you should be.

Backcountry Pizza in Boulder (same owner as Goed Zuur) has Cantillon Kriek, Gueuze, and CSG in bottles, and a **** ton of 3F boxes in the cellar right where you walk in. No idea on price, but I'm sure it's steep. They often have Tilquin Gueuze on draft, but not now. Sour Sunday at Backcountry was the last time I bought an LPK from a bar to drink. I think it was 2015. Nostalgic.

The name of one of the biggest beer groups in the Norse countries literally translates to "Beer and Tiles".
Norse countries? Think most of them are Swedish...but yeah, beer and tile is correct (think that the name comes from all of them taking beer pics in their kitchens and they all were similar- mainly beer and tile in all the pics). Uhh, just realized I don't have any context...what were you talking about? That Öl&Kakel bokke I guess..

I'll actually be there next week. Any idea if there is a chance the lambic at Hops & Pie will last through the weekend?

Popped the cap to find a bunch of dark brown liquid and some mold between the cork and the cap. A little bit of pressure bubbling up through the center of the cork.

Cork pulled with a light pop.

Aroma is familiar Cantillon funk, wet straw, fresh cut grass.

Very little bitterness, some sweet-tart, lemon, noticeable oak, more hay. The finish is lemony citrus and oak.

The fact that this is unblended shows. It’s not as complex as a blended gueuze, but the dry hopping held on for 7+ years. Great grassy and citrusy notes still shine through.

A real treat.

Yeah, I think it started in Sweden, though I did meet one or two people in it from other countries up there. They were all cool people, though. They told me the same thing about the source of the name, too. Also, I can't pronounce Öl & Kakel to save my life.

I had the most mellow, flowery 2011 CSG recently, ISO

I'm sure the Fou Foune keg kicked yesterday (it was good) but I'd guess they'll still have A&G/OG/Tilquin gueuze. Finn's Manor has 375's of 3F OG for $17 onsite which is much cheaper than H&P which was charging $28. The Tilquin at H&P was $20 for a 375 which isn't too bad but I can't imagine what A&G and Hommage would cost. You looking to take bottles home or do you guys get 3F pretty regularly out there?

Magnums of A&G just dropped in my area. 1 PP and it honestly made me consider going and picking one up. But then I saw the price.

$92

lol nope. I’ll sit in a lawn chair with a 750ml in each hand or 4x 375’s making my own cuvee in my mouth drinking directly from the bottles before I shell out almost 100 bones just for the format difference premium.

Same boat as you, my friend. I actually told the mrs. that I had to leave, threw on clothes and was about to run out the door. Stopped myself in the garage and thought to look up the price. No thanks! You could order a magnum of 3F OG from Etre and have only that magnum shipped to you and still spend less than $92. Unfortunate.

Not so much looking to take home, I have plenty of lambic in my cellar. It was more for good drinking while there (I know, it's Denver; there is good drinking everywhere). I wouldn't mind taking some lambic back to my hotel, though!

U.S. retail cost on magnums is hard to justify. Not so bad if you get them at the source: Cantillon gueuze is €25, 3F OG is €22, A&G was €30, and A&G Vintage was €45. Not sure what the Tilquin magnums went for but I need one.

The Tilquin magnums were €25 from the brewery
