This 60 year old beer looks way less oxidized than a “Brabantiae” that was recently opened![]()
Yeah, that label looked fake as hell. What're your thoughts?

Seems like the quotation marks said enough. Appeared questionable, but no way to tell now...
Did all Brabantiae bottles have the gold foil? Thought that was geuze
I recall those labels being on eBay. I wanted to bid on a couple of them to display (I forgot). It had never occurred to me that someone could just slap one on a bottle and sell it. Shows how naive I am. HahaI’m nearly positive that bottle was a fake, but the OP was having none of it. I’ve never seen one with gold foil, all the bottles were capped, the cork was wrong (he sent me a pic), and several mint labels popped up on eBay for sale last spring. A bottle that looked just like that was on MBC a few weeks ago but got pulled by the admin because of those exact concerns.

Don’t remember the JCN counterfeits?
Selling fakes as performance art.Or the guy on BA years ago looking for the "High Res Cantillon labels for an art project"
Seems that happened before I really got interested in lambic. Didn't have my first one until 2014. Makes me sound like a noob, geez.Don’t remember the JCN counterfeits?

Is it worse if my friend told me about the magical world of cantillon in 2010 after spending a couple weeks there, but lambic isn’t really shelf beer in Philly I mostly ignored his advice....Class of 2013 here. I'll share some shame w you![]()

I recall ages ago when I first got into craft beer there were some bottles of Cantillon (Gueuze and Kriek I believe) sitting on the shelf at a bottle shop that I used to frequent for like $20. I scoffed and proclaimed, "Who in their right mind would spend $20 on a single bottle of beer". Man... if only I knew what I would become. Is it worse if my friend told me about the magical world of cantillon in 2010 after spending a couple weeks there, but lambic isn’t really shelf beer in Philly I mostly ignored his advice....

I remember when you could purchase the Seasons set on Amazon no too long ago.
"Alexa, more Lente please!"
It was until 2010! I remember places like Capone's and Foodery having several varieties of loons available. LPG and LPF could even be found at places like Canal's in NJ. One day, they just all dried up. Had I known, I would have stocked the **** up.Is it worse if my friend told me about the magical world of cantillon in 2010 after spending a couple weeks there, but lambic isn’t really shelf beer in Philly I mostly ignored his advice....
Looks like a standard BiaB shipment to me.View attachment 1377 So my beers arrived today via BiaB. Was never sent any tracking information, just that my beers would be sent soon. I think Kirt is a great person and has always been wonderful to me, but this one was pure luck.
