It’s not exactly turding up the shelves but now that Oregon has Shelton Brothers as an actual distributor (not importer) I have seen Cantillon on the shelf here, $12/375ml or so. It’s lovely just to see it on the shelf at all.
Speaking of Shelton, it’s 6 weeks since they were about to announce The Festival then things went quiet. Anyone heard anything?

I'd love to know what's up with The Festival.

Washington has an actual Shelton Distributor and all the Cantillon (and Fantome and maybe 3F I don't know, I still haven't seen it around) goes to the Masonry and sometimes Slowboat Tavern. Ok, that's not true. Cantillon has been seen at stores in Seattle, but you basically had to be lucky and be there when it got dropped off. All the Tomes end up at the Masonry, though. And I don't know what the hell is with 3F. I just wait and buy it whenever I go to Bend.

If my French was better I'd consider it, mut it seems a bit much to travel all the way to that event just to get some bottle(s)

Well it’s not really about the bottles though. If you read the whole story about why they’re doing this you’d see it’s because the theater lost a large chunk of public funding and is in need of financial support so Jean stepped up and blended this beer for then to sell. The 1,000 bottles at €30 each plus the two jeroboams being auctioned off will get them a pretty nice windfall as well as a bunch of folks through the door of the theater for what appears to be a pretty fun event. I’m sad I can’t make it but it’s a week before I get there.

Looks like Jean just rolled out of bed in that photo.

BA really hated the fact that I went to Cantillon and wasn’t impressed... these old dorks took it so personal.

It was definitely a cool place, but it was filled with Americans and didn’t seem like a place where Belgians ever went.

I'm not the best at memes, but I think you might be the guy the "2/10, Would Not Bang" meme is talking about.

Same here. I only go to places listed in Rick Steve’s travel guides.

Saturday afternoon lambic. 2011-12.

Only time I was ever thankful for the Pennsylvania case law. Think I paid $180 for 24 (two 12s taped together which was the only way they could legally sell it at the time). Just a few years later these are like $20/375ml in most bottle shops around here if you can even find them.

That is a great deal. Only thing that would have made it better was if it were 4 6ers of the 750s taped together for the same price
