Unless I missed it, no one seems to have picked up on the release of Tilquin Stout Rullquin Squared last week. I don't like Rullquin but my interest is piqued.

For some reason when I think of Quetsche I don't imagine it as having been around for as long as it has. Found a bottle from Jan 29 2013 in a box that wasn't on my spreadsheet so I figured I'd open it. American import. This thing is absolutely fantastic for being 4+ years old. Cellar is sitting at 54F right now, and this opened with a bang. Great carbonation, sweet nose with a tart mouthfeel that I'd expect from an underripe fruit. Not a deterrent at all. As it warms up it becomes a little more fruit forward and more gueuze like with a deep mustiness to it. I don't generally hang on to or age fruited lambic, but this is one of those bottles that makes the case against fruited lambic bottles. Really great.

Got me some more Uli blends this saturday. Was nice to see him again.
His "Zure Qantelaar" (wint De Oude Maalderij) was nice, almost Flemish red (oud bruin).
Does Uli still regularly blend? Haven't seen a recent one of those around in a long while.

horrible label but pretty decent 8$ beer from tj, not dissimilar to what i imagine cuvee renee framboise would taste like

They also have a single foeder Petrus Pale at TJ's, I bought one last week but have yet to open it.

Yes. He's doing a blend for Brews for New Avenues. He's been busy with Hof ten dormal too.

Indeed, he had several Hof Ten Dormaal blends available at the MEUG festival this saturday. Only tried his Zure Qantelaar (with De oude maalderij) and XX bitter (I liked that one alot). Bought some other bottles so he didn't have to take them home with him after the festival. I'm nice like that :p

Im not the biggest fan of beersel lambic but that green walnut thing they did was the tits. Id bang that again. Not really sure what the walnuts contributed to it but it was pleasantly fruity in nature.

Also enjoyed megablend 2015 moreso than I did freshly after it was released. Tons of citrus going on in it now with a crisp dryness about it.

Have you had Beersel Schaerbeekse? That was an incredible beer.

Back in the day most kriek was just schaerbeekse, they just did not care to mention it on the bottles, because they did not need to :)
Now for you: http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/blhde_02747209
This means Oud-Beersel planted their own Schaerbeekse kriekenbomen, by 2020 they should have harvest so by 2021 or so, first of their own harvest.
The article also mentions the release of Oud-Beersel schaerbeekse (limited edition) end of spring. 1300 bottles available. I should look into getting some of those :)

Boon certainly doesn't leave any guesswork in their bottle dating. Exactly two years in the capped 25cl bottle (hour/minutes/seconds/timezone not withstanding) poured from my basement cellar temp of 53.6F (12C). Still highly carbed, gushed a bit sitting on the counter. Quite bitter, very dry, pretty much everything you expect from a Boon geuze. I'm still glad I ordered a case of these bottles, and I'm anxious to see how they hold up over time. Have just under half a case left.
