No disrespect to the American 'lambic' game but it cracks me up to see breweries in the US release their uber limited, 1btl only or onsite consumption, 375ml, coolship beer for $25+ per bottle when none of it can even sniff the jock of a 3G OG. And then beer (((enthusiasts))) fall all over themselves trying to acquire/drink/trade for them.

I'm looking forward to Jester King's shot at 1,2 and 3 year old blend of spontaneous beer. They've supposedly made enough to not cause a crazy run for bottles, and have been pouring it at quite a few festivals. Seems like they could have held back to increase hype, but instead have been pretty upfront/transparent about how much their is and (relative) ease of acquiring

And also, fwiw and #notlambic, the afternoon I spent at De Garde last month was (along with HF) as close to a 'Belgian' experience as I've had in the US - very relaxed and unpretentious, proper understanding of the beer and people drinking it, people serving the beers who could talk about the relationship between the beer and the process, and not overrun either.

Okay let's talk about some ******' Belgian beer again

How are the more recent bottlings of 3F OG? I loved January '15 and October '14, but was disappointed by the lack of carb in the March '15 bottles I had.

I've heard conflicting info about bottle count on that one, but I know there are apparently different batches / bottle dates. I've heard as low as 800 and as high as 2,500. I've been waiting on that beer for so long. I don't get too worked up over the latest and greatest AWA of the week, but I'll be going after this one pretty hard. Luckily, I'll get to try the vintage 14 awa with a buddy who's getting one sent his way. Also, yes no AWA I've had has been close to 3gOG, but some are pretty interesting. I thought DDG B1 was really unique and good, but just not 3fog. Also, coolship resurgam is pretty darn good.

I thought pretty much the same thing after shelling out 520Kr/$77 for a 375ml Being & Time in Koelschip. Nice tick and everything but not up there with the top Zenne Valley boys.

COMPLETELY agree. DDG may be the closest I've had to coming anywhere near how much I enjoy 3F. Compound it with DDG costs like, 3x 3F.

I came to the conclusion about a year and half ago that trading is dumb.

I live my life with stacks and stacks of bcbs and 3F OG. I am a very happy man.
