Over in London and Padraig has popped a 3F Doesjel 2006 and 2009.

2009 has carbed up, little ring of head. 2006 looks dead but coats the tongue nicely with CO2.

Although both went nearly equally flat after a while. Was surprised that the 2009 was the more carbed initially. Probably the synthetic cork in the 2006 not helping things.

Catching up thanks to stakem.

It's my understanding that this is all on the brewery, not the U.S. importer. When I talked to the importer they said that they had asked Girardin to send over some bags in a box for their really good customers and they said no because it was mean to be a local beer. They also said they haven't asked Girardin to ask the webshops to stop selling to the U.S.

As we wrote on L.I, each batch of geuze has the potential to be either OG or OGV. There's no change in recipe or anything. What goes on between bottling and release is anyone's guess as to the decision process. Insofar as every blend of geuze is different, then I guess it's unique in that way.

It's on the bottle log and in the description of the beer :p

Any idea what the bottle count is on those? I've got one on the way and I'm just curious.

I'll post more later tonight, but we (nophunk and a few others) did a blind tasting last night. The biggest take always were that Boon Vat 77 is horrible. Really mineraly and sweet. Also, cantillon 2014 is really not that great. It ranked between the middle and bottom for everyone.

Oh yeah, and 3F GB is outstanding.

Someone was asking about that in our Facebook group, I'm sure they'd appreciate the update there too :)

I was surprised that Cuvee Rene ranked so highly for me. The others weren't feeling it as much. 2014 Golden Blend is the bomb. That is the only one I was really sure I was right about from the first sips.

Because I haven't had a chance to make a page for it yet :(

It's on my list of things to do.

No worries...I'm sure it's a ton of work to maintain that page. I was just having an OCD moment.

On a related note, will there ever be another lambic.info glass sale? I get sad feels whenever I see people post pics in here and the DDT with their sweet glasses.

Had Vat 77 this past weekend. I agree that it is really sweet but it was far from horrible for me. I havnt had it before but some of the people I was with had and said it was a lot less sweet and more funky than it was a year ago. I thought there was a lot of earthy mushroom on the nose but it wasn't as prevalent in the taste. But I think this lambic has potential, its just going to take a few years to take the sweetness away and round it out but the potential seems to be there

I've never been so simultaneously interested in a thread and heart broken at the cost associated with said excitement.
