I called LAX Customs today about a box that they have been holding since February 10th. They claimed they are not holding it, but that perhaps USPS is since I cannot "ship alcohol to the US." I asked if I could pick the box up and was told no, because shipping alcohol is against USPS regulations. I guess I will try USPS next to see if they will confirm they are holding my box with an intent to ship it back. Customs also stated that the delay is because boxes will sit in bins until USPS has capacity to return the shipment.

might be too late now, but tell them it is yeast samples...and say sure there is some alc in there, just like in cough syrup, but these bottles were ordered for the yeast and the bottles are not fit for consumption as is. i used that plan with fedex and it worked

Other than color, what's the difference between the white and red labels for ogv?

$11 for a 750ml of 2009. Lol.

Also, March 2014 3F is excellent!

But this September 2014 is less then stellar out of the gate. Lime juice and plastic.

I'm interested in hearing what yours would be.
Having done a few blind tastings myself my nomination would actually be Oud Beersel. Maybe Tilquin, but they seem properly rated, now, finally, unfortunately.

I have generally found Boon's geuzes to be properly rated for the style, but in general the less hyped lambics (from them, Oud Beersel, Lindeman's) to be generally underrated compared to over-hyped american wilds.

Thinking about going after a loon pitcher. Any real purpose for other than aesthetic purposes?

Sure, I think decanting improves some lambics, but have identical results just letting it sit in the glass.

Well sure, I wouldn't go out of the way to grab one of those pitchers but if you're at the brewery and they're on the shelf then I'd pick one up.

50N a close second

Could not agree more. 50N opens up big time.

So I got some de cam in the other day from a janky place. I ordered 2 bottle of what they called de cam lambiek with a picture of the special lambiek, product code was also spec as well. What I got was 2 bottles of Oude lambic, but I'm not at all that concerned about the mislead and also almost expected due to cheap prices and level of Jankyness. Now here's the confusing part, the Oude lambiek's are the old labels and has a date of 2001 crossed out. Knowing how they use labels until they gone I can assume these are not 2001, but are they likely 2003 the next batch or is it possible they are the most recent batch?
