The timeline doesn't quite line up either. If you believe Cantillon's Facebook then the newest Cognac barrels were filled in late February 2013. That doesn't seem like enough time to push out a new batch of 50n4e. Both the 2007 and the 2012 bottlings of 50n talk about it being aged two years and then bottled. Batch 2 was bottled on February 23, 2012 but wasn't really "available" until right around May 2013 immediately after Toer de Geuze. I could be wrong, but logic...
Well, it could be that there were Congac barrels around before that, and those will be a 2016 release. But you seem on top of this ****.

Oh, sure. Wouldn't surprise me with what's hidden away there, but I don't imagine 50n ever becoming a more common release. But again, I could be wrong.

Anyone use Trappist world for their lambic ordering needs? Their pricing is absurd but they seem to have a decent stock of some of the fruited Lambics that are becoming more and more rare on other sites.

Though they can be a bit pricey, I think TrappistWorld has great customer service and always seem to be responsive and helpful when I request things. One of the (I think) owners, Robin, is always great about getting back to me concerning any questions.

Will also confirm shipping is solid.

Better than BelgiuminaBox that has over 60 kgs of beer that I have been asking to ship for a month now. It normally doesn't take this long to get Kurt to provide shipping info, but I was really hoping to get this before winter settled in.

Are you sure he's getting your emails? He's responded and sniped a box for me more recently than that. I know there have been problems with spam filters stopping him from getting private emails before. Try sending a message through the website.

Yeah, he is getting them. He has even responded to some stating he will provide a link the next day to pay for shipping.

I'm going to just say it: in my experience Kurt's communication is terrible. I know some people have exactly the opposite experience, but I've been through it twice this year where I've had to send him several repeated messages over the course of weeks to get replies. In one it was very much like ineedbeer 's experience where every time I emailed he would reply within 24 hours saying he would get me my shipping total "tomorrow" and then I'd never hear back. Lather, rinse, repeat for about 2 months.

Yikes!

My experiences with Kurt have been good, although I've only ordered from there a couple of times. Definitely prompt responses, and he was very quick to correct a mistake in what he shipped. And the packaging was great.

I've also ordered from TrappistWorld despite the prices and would disagree with others on the packaging. The box was banged up and not terribly strong, and I was half expecting broken bottles. The bottles inside were very well wrapped, though.

My wallet really wishes I had never discovered ordering from these places.

That sucks...good luck getting that resolved. I've had only good experiences with Kurt and hope this doesn't mean it's getting to a point where he struggles to keep up with all the orders and E-mails. Maybe it's just because of a year end rush on orders.

Unrelatedly, I drank a line up of Boon gueuze (2007 Mariage Parfait, Vat 44, Vat 77, Lambikstoemper) the other night and am going to drink a line up of Tilquin gueuze (2012 and 2014 Gueuze plus Gueuze^2), I'll try to post reviews from those two tastings soon.

My experience with Kurt has been hit or miss. When he replies, it's usually quick, polite, and extremely helpful (hooking me up with beers, shipping fast, etc), and an absolute pleasure to deal with. On the other side, i've had months where i try to get a hold of him 3-4 times with no response, even if it's a reply to his previous email that says something like "check back in next week".

Sometimes it's a minor inconvenience (if i'm trying to track down some 750s or something) and sometimes it's terrifying (like when he has $500+ worth of my beer), but so far he's come through in the end.

Yeah, this is my general experience with Kurt as well. Sometimes he is super prompt. One time in the past it took a bit of poking to get him to send, but this is the first time that it has stretched on this long. I'm not worried that I won't get the beer, I was just trying to get it before the holiday rush and before it got really cold.

Those prices are ridiculous

They also don't seem in line with each other, right? Like $50 between Rose?

Yeah, I'm a relative loon novice, but St. Gilloise at the same price as Fou seems really goofy.

But if these were all available at the same time, I could imagine some drunken goof with a fat wallet saying, "Screw it, time to start a loon collection."

Guys I opened a De cam Oude Lambiek with a 375ml 2009 bottle date on it the other night, that I got in a trade and it blew me away. Was at a store near me that had one 2012 date on it 750ml for $34.99. How is the 12 compared to the 09 and is that price too high?
