If you have been considering brewing Janet's Brown and are unsure of what to expect, go pick yourself up a bottle of Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot. Lagunitas makes a beer that is slightly drier and a less powerful hop aroma, but it is very, very similar to Tasty McDole's recipe.

I wasn't a fan of WTF... In fact, that's what I said when I tried it.

I have had a fellow brewer's Janet's Brown clone, and it was nice.

I agree, this is probably the closest commercial beer to Janet's Brown (the bigger version of it).

One of the few good examples of what american brown ale used to be before it got dumbed down to northern english brown ale with a small citrus hop aroma.

Bitch Creek ESB is another good one.
