How would a pure strain of yeast not be Kosher?

There's a difference between being potentially kosher (which yeast is, but there are various things that could be done in manufacturing it that could render it treyf) and being certified kosher. The OP seems to be asking for yeast that carries a hechsher, which is a symbol that indicates the product has been certified kosher by a rabbinical authority.

I wasn't able to find anything about certified kosher yeasts. It appears that they are assumed to be kosher unless stated otherwise. I found this to be informative.

White labs was ok to use. made 10 gallons of irish red. bottle tomorrow. 2+ weeks to carbinate...a bit close, but that's the way it goes. It already has had 2 weeks in primary and 2 in secondary. We will call it "Purim a Beer". Oy vey. Brewed by meshuganas.:fro:
