Okay here's your chance to show how smart you are. I bought a few older kegs and cleaned them up. When I put them back together, I couldnt get them to seal. It looks like the poppets are not being forced up high enough in the posts. They are firestone kegs and one is marked as a "Challenger". They have plastic post inserts (spacers) under the poppets on both sides.

My question is, what is the best way to try to get these post to seal? Do parts need to be replaced, or am I putting this thing together wrong? What bugs me even more is, I think these were shipped to me pressurized.

Thanks in advance,

Mpjay

I replaced all the gaskets (o rings, whatever) already. If I get the universal poppets do I still need those spacers? Where's a good source for the poppets?

Thanks,
Mpjay
