Didn't he used to have a band?
That was his brother Pink. 
I love Keith Floyd! He's always been one of my favorite TV chefs also. That plus he uses songs from the Stranglers as theme music. I first saw his show Floyd on Fish in the late 80's on the PBS (Public Broadcasting Station - non-commercial TV for you Brits). Loved that show and bought the corresponding cookbook. We occassionaly will catch a show on the Food Network. We happend to catch a bit of his Curry series and bought that cookbook too. I caught part of a show just last week on accident while flipping through the stations. I always liked his no nonsense, no frills, down to earth attitude.
