Hey guys, hopefully a quick question, I just got a 3 month old 10.6 cubic foot freezer (working), off craigslist for $150, because some people were forced to move so they had to get rid of it.

So I am trying to turn it into a Keezer, and it can fit 6+ kegs in there. So I am trying to buy the hardware, and I have looked over the forums, and it looks like if I build my own tap tower, for the faucet, I just have to buy the faucet and the shank (the piece that anchors in the wood... is that the correct name?)

And so I did have a kegerator that I built out of my old Dorm room fridge and it has a Perlick faucet on it, and I am looking at buying 6 Perlick Faucets ... needless to say sticker shock...

Is there really a difference between the 22-25$ faucets and the 35+ Perlick Faucet? I have only had the Perlick so I don't really know any of the perils that await with the other type of faucet. So I am yielding to the community to shed some incite.

Thanks in advanced for the help

I hear the cheapos stick.... Kegconnection has the chrome perlicks for around $28... I just installed two of them on Saturday and love them.

perlicks are awesome. I had the standard ones forever then tried a perlick i will never use the cheapos again. The main difference is where they seal. The only thing i havent done yet is try to tear appart and clean one. I will be doing that this weekend . Do you have to buy all 6 at one time???? or can you get the as you need them that is what i am doing. PERK

Yeah, I think I will not buy them all at once, I have 3 cornings and 1 sanke 5 gallon keg, I think I'll just buy the 4, along with the shank a 200$ dive.

Forward sealing faucets are definately worth the money. After the cheapo got stuck for the umpteenth time, you'd be swearing at yourself for not buying perlicks.
