Extract IIPA in primary 2 weeks. OG 1.064 (SB 1.083). FG 1.018 - ABV ~ 6%. Tastes good, slightly and needs to mellow. Plan on bottling in 2 weeks and leaving another 2-3 weeks. Everything has gone pretty smoothly wight the insight garnered around here, thanks.

Ready to try a wheat next.

What is your actual og? is it 1064 or 1083? 1064 is American IPA's og range.

If I remember correctly IIPA ranges from 1070-1090

regardless, you made beer, congratulations!

OG was 1.064. I think you are right Phil, I have beer! But you know how that 1st batch is!

My wort ended up 4.5G instaed of 5G, could that cause the OG to be lower?

If anything, it should be higher. It could be you didn't completely incorporate all the extract, or it could be there was some extract or steeping grains missing.

Wierdboy - that makes sense. I didn't scrape the extract out becuase the labels and GLUE were dripping off from leaving them in warm water to loosen it up, that was a good lesson. :fro:
