Had it on tap at angry chair for their diabetes fest or whatever during Tampa beer week. It was awesome

Got a bottle in the MAW BIF. Enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go over the top trying to get it.

It seems to exist in the purgatory of "not easy to get but not also not a hypewale so no one really trades it."

Was able to snag Midnight Sun Termination Dust on our last trip to Hawaii, but wasn't sure what I would be able to find barleywine-wise this time around.

Was pleased to see MOAS (for $33) and a few Clown Shoes options (Pierre Ferrand Billionaire and Bluegrass Billionaire). Ended up with the Pierre Ferrand Billionaire since I've never tried it.

Will be crushing the Billionaire on the balcony tomorrow night.

I have only tried the cognac and the double oaked so far.

Eh, I'm not putting it on a pedestal. I think they could last that long, I'll keep checking in on them and see how things go, if they start dropping off even a little, I'll drink them. Abacus has held up just fine over the last 6-7 years and is just now starting to drop off, these may have the potential to do the same. Who knows.

Whoa! My bottles of Abacus fell off hard after 3 years. FW typically peaks at 1 year.

Good to hear some are hanging in there.

had this guy last night and it is a stunner! Very similar to batch 3, the cognac really adds some nice elements to it. damn near perfect. Reminds me of Hand of Glory, with the big chewy body and smoothness of Anabasis. Kinda wish it was a 500ml bottle

That is not a 2012. Earliest that can be with that label is 2014. Anything before that would have an inkjet label with a stock image of a row of barrels.

I'm not 100% positive on this but I am also reasonably confident that there wasn't and BBBW in 2012.

I was going to sit on them, but I decided not to. The woodford reserve was probably the weakest of the bunch(that's really not saying much), it had a very strong charred oak and almost dark cherry like presence. The apple brandy was the hottest off the bat, but settled nicely in the glass and was overall the most complex. The double oaked was far more balanced and nuanced than the single barrel cognac, and the scotch was silky smooth, not overly peaty. The rum, which I was expecting to like the least was actually very pleasant and not overpowering. They were all very different and nuanced, and I never longed to be drinking another beer to cleanse the pallet. Overall, it was one of the most amazing drinking experiences I have ever had. I hope I get the chance to drink another one day.

totally agree. i don't like aged FW barrel beers. i think their yeast strain takes on a spearmint taste after a few years that grosses me out.

Very nice...I actually liked the Woodford the most. Scotch was the surprise of the bunch. Was a really great tasting as the base shined through on all of them.

I believe I had them: Woodford>Double Oak>Scotch>Yak>AB>Rum

So I was scrounging around in the cellar and came across these:



The Sucaba is a 2012, and Cuvee 2 I'm not sure, although research says it came out in 2008...hard to believe it's been 9 years down there, who knows.

Anyone had recent experiences with these or similar vintages?
