Just made a starter with london ale III and when I cut the smack pack open a weird smell came out. A little "meaty" I would say. Not terribly offensive just not what I'm used to. Did my yeast autolyse in the pack? I've kept in the fridge for maybe two or three months now, but I remember it was pretty warm upon delivery. Any thoughts?

So long as it does not smell/taste vinegary or spoiled, you should be ok. If you suspect it is infected, then I might consider not pitching it. Chances are, everything's fine. Great yeast too...
