This is my first brew but I have been watching it and it seem to be foaming is this normal

Looks normal to me. The foam you see is kraeusen. You're making beer! BTW, welcome from Missouri, neighbor.
 
Unlike wine making with fruit juices, beer has protein components that fruit juices lack and these proteins make foam. This is also why you get a head on the beer when you pour.
 
Looks like what will normally happen 12 to 36 hours after pitching yeast in wort. Not every time depending on a variety of things. However, it happens often enough to be considered normal.

Too little headspace and IMO, a blow off tube of too small a diameter can help to make it messier.
