started my first batch of kombucha 7 days ago with a starter kit. Temps have been between 72-80 degrees and kept in a dark cabinet above oven. I can’t find a picture similar to this online. Anyone know if this is mold or normal?

Looks normal to me.
I lost my scoby/mother when I moved. Finally found a nonflavored kombucha at the store. Here’s a picture of my 2 week old mother.
Later today I’ll get a batch going to drink.

You're keeping this covered with nylon mesh, fabric, or several layers of cheesecloth, and a rubber band around the neck, right?
