As a first timer I was soooo careful with trying to attempt a yeast starter for my first homebrew. All was well with my wort until went to add my liquid yeast (White Labs California Ale) and dump it in without vigorously shaking the vial. I feel like such an idiot. Of course all the liquid went down my funnel leaving the vial with all the caked up yeast. My question is this....I poured some of my wort back into my yeast vial and after sanitizing the yeast vial cap, placed it back on the vial, shook it vigorously and pouring it down my funnel into the rest of my wort. Can this be salvaged or am I in trouble. I guess if it's a problem I could buy another California Ale liquid yeast, since it was only a starter. I'd rather not do that and hope that my recovery method didn't jeopardize the mission. Please help!!!
