I'm a new brewer. Small customizations to kits in the recent past.
Put together what I am hoping to be a rather hoppy west coast IPA with a Brewhouse IPA kit and then made a wort with 1/2 lb of grains & 250 g of lite DME to hopped at various times during the boil with 3 oz of hops. The SG reading said 1.068 which seems ridiculously high. Pitched Danstar BRY-97 American West Coast Beer Yeast last night. The fermentation temperature is in the 15-18 deg C range.
Are the conditions right for fermentation or should I dilute the wort to bring the SG down?
