I had a pissenlit at Delerium in Brussels last September, it was "sticky" like the pedio was not quite done doing its stuff. It was an incredibly interesting beer. It had an almost egg drop soup body to it, when you rolled it on your tongue it thinned out and felt like a normal beer. When you poured it it was like honey in consistency. I want more of it, my wife and I brought bottles home hoping they would be the same, but they were "normal". ISO if anyone knows where to find some of those bottles.

Sounds like the beer was 'sick'. From what I've read, the ropey, viscous texture is related to Pedio's defense against o2 (too much o2 during transfer or bottling).

Brett will eat the proteins that form the ropiness and return the beer back to it's 'normal' self. Can take a few months.

Brett will eat the proteins

Had a 5 Sciences batch 2 over the weekend, it was pretty awesome. Had that dank weed character that Sante 14 has.
dont
do this
to me

been resisting the urge to acquire more 5 sciences since having a taste of batch 1 at the last voodoo release. i was pretty much blackout drunk and thought I remember it as being smokey like the other bad batches. however, someone could have given me a pour of chew spit and i would not have been the wiser

dont judge me
sometimes i drink
a lot

yes difficult to know the real result after a Loonngg travel. But !! .. i'm not a Modernised Brewer with Brand New material .. so you can understain.. it can be different from Big Full$$$'s "small" Breweries...

I asked my mule to grab me a Fantome saison from Cali. Hoping they got a new batch if they were able to.

Does Fantome do brewery tours? Would love to hit it up on a Belgium tour.

I will admit I was and still sorta am a doubter. Deep down, Gene is playing the ultimate troll card on all of us.

I will admit that I too had my doubts. But the "real" Dany P on facebook, liked the other article, seems like he would have called it out instead of just liking it and calling it interesting if someone was impersonating him.

Richmond, VA. I think your distributor here is Hop&Wine

Hop and Wine sucks, but they also get dick from Shelton Brothers. I still get Hop and Wine inventory updates every month from the owner of the store I used to work at in Winchester for suggestions and it's nothing but run of the mil crap.

yes, Hop&Wine does suck, for many reasons. from what I've been told, the issue with Shelton was a legal dispute between H&W and another distributor over who has the rights to what parts of the state for the Shelton portfolio. I believe that may now be somewhat resolved as there has been a recent influx of Shelton products to the Richmond area in the last month or so

I've heard the same for western North Carolina. Sure would like to see Shelton's stuff closer to me than Lexington.

there is an absurd amount of noel around columbus, but i've been super apprehensive and haven't bought any. anyone had the recent batch? if not, i may have to pull the trigger. perhaps a nice christmas gift for someone i don't really like that much.

you take that back right meow!

WHICH PART

can attempt to pickitupbro if anyone is actually looking

if columbus is one of those places that gets freakish allotments of Fantome, then yes I see a goandpickitbro or a trade in our future.

i cant remember off the top of my head but it was either someplace in Ohio or Illinois that was allocated like 60% of the batch 1 extra sour bottles that came into the US. Shelton bros was like "Yo, lets drop some of this **** at Hill Farmstead, Julios, 1 or 2 places inbetween and then unload all this **** on the midwest."

How long ago was that?

In the last two years I've been in Columbus I've only seen/heard of one small shipment of Saison, a small shipment of Printemps and this big shipment of Noel. Noel is really the only one to even hit the shelf as others were done as hyped raffles or behind-the-counter sales. There was much more Fantome (3-5 different kinds at multiple stores) in Indianapolis recently than I've ever seen around here.

Then perhaps Indianapolis is what I was thinking?
This was when extra sour was released: July 2012
