I'm brewing up a delicious Irish red today to pair with my Limerick Session Stout on St. Patrick's Day. The mash smells SO good, it's like I'm inside a malted milk ball right now. This is another original Jeff-crafted recipe. Here goes:

8 lbs Maris Otter
.5 lb Crystal 40°L
.5 lb Crystal 120°L
.25 lb Pale chocolate 200°L

1.5 oz. Willamette [Whole, 5.6%AA]@60
.5 oz. Willamette keg[cask] hop

WLP004 Irish Ale [yeast cake from Limerick Session Stout]

This is gonna be great and I can't wait to have the two together!

Slainte!:mug:

I will name her "Scarlet, the Galway Girl." She's taken off super fast thanks to a nice healthy yeast cake and I think she'll be a beauty come St. Patrick's Day!

I also am going to do a Irish....;) Looks alot like your recipe.

14 lbs maris otter
1 lbs british ctystal 50\60
.25 chocolate
.50 belgian biscuit
.50 barley wheat

willamette at 60 30 10

1098 british ale yeast & 04

I feel like Slainte would be a good name for a series of Irish beers from the same brewery...I would probably relate that to the fact that, as a classical musician, I have taken to giving my recipes opus numbers.

Example:

Slainte!--Op. 17
1. Limerick Session Stout
2. Scarlet, the Galway Girl
3. Working Class Irish Mild
4. Sinéad, the Irish Blonde

The last two are ideas that I just made up off the top of my head...recipes to come?? Haha I'll keep you posted.
