Well, I was going to do a Chocolate Stout, but got side-tracked to an Irish Red Ale. I had a Smithwick's Ale before I made it to the HBS, and it went from there! I'll save the chocolate stout for Nov/Dec weather.
8.0 lbs Marris Otter Pale Malt
0.5 British Crystal (55)
4.0 oz Roasted Barley (British)
1 oz US Fuggles (Whole hops) @ 60
.25 US Goldings (Whole hops) @ 15
1/2 tsp Irish Moss @ 15 min
White Labs Irish Ale Yeast
1 qt starter w/ extra light DME
S.G. 1.045, 20.6 IBU's, 15.5 SRM.
75 min. boil, 5.5 gallons. should be a good session beer for the brutal July/August's we have here in Texas.........
